Nicholas “Xavier” Fernandes (He/Him/His)

Nicholas, normally addressed as Xavier, is a Senior at Wentworth Institute of Technology studying Architectural design with a concentration in Urban Design and Planning. Born in Boston and raised in Randolph, he is the son of two Cape Verdean parents who immigrated to America at the ages of 7 and 11, Tio (Uncle) to 5 nephew and nieces, a cousin to many and a friend for all. 

Xavier has been a part of Wentworth’ NOMAS chapter since his first year where he built a friendship with the two co-presidents of NOMAS. After being recommended, he applied to fill position of Co-presidency for the 2018-19 school year and has been voted in the position every year since. There he helps the development and execution of many events, lectures, and campaigns aimed at bringing voices to the Architects and students who are often overlooked. This Year WITNOMAS has dedicated all events and discussions to be centered around design equity, and inclusion through their initiative of R.A.C.E (Retention, Access, Community, Education/Experience) in light of recent social events.
